One last Meg update

Last night I finally got to try everything on.

Of course, I’m STILL tacking pleats…. but other than that the dress is done in that pic. I was testing out shoes so I was actually standing in one heeled shoe and one flat shoe LOL I was hoping the flat shoes looked best, but unfortunately, the more uncomfortable heeled sandals (from Hippolyta) looked better, so that’s what I’m going with. Bringing both just in case, though.

The medallions are painted and sewn in place though you can’t see them there.

After trying the wig on I decided my ponytail was set too far back. There wasn’t a whole lot I could do outside of taking the entire wig apart – which is doable, I just didn’t have the time, so I may do it before Dragoncon if it still looks too far back in photos from this weekend – but I did take the ponytail off, insert another foam block, and sew the ponytail back on. It raised the ponytail up a bit.
Here’s the wig’s foam structure without the ponytail attached, and you can see the braided lower half pretty well here, too:

And then here’s everything put back together:

Also created the ponytail band out of a duct tape cardboard tube, some ribbon I had leftover from Hippolyta and some trim I also had leftover from something. My Megara costume from May 2014 - in-progress.kelldar.com/portfolio/megaraKelldar.com | My Facebook Page | Tumblr | Instagram

I got partially packed yesterday afternoon – going to try to finish packing everything else I can on my lunch break today. The best part of this week was that our dryer went out Monday night. So all the laundry I needed to do for this weekend is having to air dry. Thankfully it wasn’t a lot, but it was just added annoyance on top of everything else. (THANKFULLY it’s still under the extended warranty so it was ONLY an added annoyance and not an added expense. We’re having to wait on the gizmo to come in needed to fix it.)

So, I’ve been kinda thinking about schedule.
Friday night: Donna or Belldandy – depending on what time we get in/plans
Sat Morning: Belldandy or Belle
Sat Afternoon: Megara
Sat Late Night (after dinner): Whichever hasn’t been worn yet – or Meg
Sunday: Regular Clothes, or Donna, depends

I asked Kevin which of his costumes he wanted to bring. I expected him to say Link since we finally got it wearable again for GMX last year, but he said Harry Potter (I think he’s entranced by the light-up wand). So I got his Harry Potter stuff ironed and ready. I expect him to spend more time in the game room than costuming with us anyway so Harry is a good choice for that.
